Hermeon
Interpretation that understands the lecture
An interpretation solution built for education. It learns subject terms from the instructor's lecture materials, delivers the lecture as multilingual subtitles, and organises what was taught into concepts and their relationships: structured knowledge for search, analysis and prediction.
Status In development
A made-up example modelled on the student screen. The lecture is in Korean; tap a language to switch the subtitles.
Interpretation in class, structured knowledge after it
Hermeon helps every student follow the lecture, including international students and students who are deaf or hard of hearing, and after class organises it into concepts and relationships that stay useful all term.
-
Before class
The instructor uploads lecture materials and Hermeon builds a subject glossary. Terms the AI proposes start as candidates; the instructor confirms them.
-
In class
The lecture is transcribed live, corrected using the course's context and translated in step with the lecture. Students join by QR code and read subtitles in their own language on their own device. Formulas read aloud appear as formulas.
-
After class
When the lecture ends, its content is organised into concepts and the relationships between them. Students search and review with the source sentences in view; instructors and universities can analyse where students get stuck and predict what they will find hard.
Who it helps
International students
Follow subject lectures with subtitles and term explanations in their language, and ask questions in their own language after class.
Deaf and hard-of-hearing students
Get live subtitles even in lectures without a stenographer or sign-language interpreter.
Every student
Find a missed explanation by sentence and time, and review concept by concept.
Instructors
Get a glossary just by uploading lecture materials, and see from the analysis which concepts students struggle with.
Universities
Build classroom teaching into structured knowledge kept on campus, as the basis for learning analytics and campus AI services.
Modules
Hermeon Live Core
Glossary from lecture materials, live transcription and correction, translation in the lecture's context, formula display, and multilingual subtitles on students' devices.
Hermeon Graph Extension
Builds a knowledge structure of the lecture's concepts and how they relate, with sourced search and concept learning paths, and a basis for learning analytics and prediction.
Hermeon Connect Shared
Connects to campus systems through school sign-in, LMS embedding, learning-record export and links to AI agents.
- Deployment
- Cloud and on-premises (on campus GPU servers) versions are being prepared with the same screens and features.
- Audio handling
- Only the instructor's microphone is transcribed, and by default the original audio is deleted once it has been transcribed.
- The name
- From the Greek hermeneia (interpretation) and ‑eion (a place): a place where interpretation gathers.
